: : : Yesterday, I tried to fire up my freshly restored 1937 John : : Deere AR which has been tarped in a barn for a month and a half. : : When it first fired, oil spit out everywhere. I think it came out : : of the exhaust. It was a heck of a mess to wash up in the cold. : : What went wrong. Maybe a bad valve? Help. Plowboy : it probably was'nt oil. Sometimes when an engine sets ,it builds up moisture. & when you started it , the exhaust pushed out the moisture mixed with carbon in the manifold, & it looks like oil ___-I think I found the solution. Big Deisel was correct. I started it up again and it was all better. From now on, I'll start it every week to make sure too much moisture doesn't build up. Plowboy
