: Other than being more expensive, what are the pros and cons of John Deere spray can paint versus mixing/thinning and spray automotive style? I've sprayed a few small pieces after wet sanding that don't look too bad. Any advice is appreciated, thanks. My dealer tells me that Agriculture green (in spray can or brush) is basically the only green available since the removal of the lead bases that John Deere and others used in the past. The Classic green available is lighter and used on the newer garden series, am I being told correctly? Thanks again. I cant tell you much about JD colours but I can tell you one thing about spray paints. Someone gave me a whole case of spray paint one time that the feed tubes were clogged in. I tried to unclog them but had no luck. So I shot them with a BB gun to let the propellant out without it spraying all over me, then cut the top off with tin snips and poured the contents into my spray gun. ( I didnt use it on a tractor, It was something I didnt care about looks too much and just needed to get a coating on) What I found after I cut the top off surprised me. Those cans are only about 1/3 full of paint. And that is already thinned. so your not getting much paint for your money. That is on top of all the disadvantages the other guys listed below.
