So I just came across a John Deere GPO tractor that has been in the woods for most likely 30 plus years. I may have the opertunity to purchase the tractor however I’ve no real idea of what it is worth.
Due to the situation I was not permitted to take pictures to share so I’ll do my best to describe the tractors condition. As mentioned it has been in the woods for a few decades. It still has the rear fenders but the tapered front pieces have been removed. The cylinder head, manifold, carburator, pistons and rods are missing and have been for a long time. The govnor housing has been removed so the crankcase has been open to the elements. In addition the transmission cover has a small hole rusted in it so its safe to say that it too is full of water. The rivets to the serial number tag rotted off and the tag is missing although I suspect it my be buried under the detritus at the rear of the tractor. It does have it’s original front steel wheels on it and the original rear steel wheels are laying nearby.
I know these are rare tractors however I’ve no idea of its value in its current state. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
