Alternator used is stock item from Napa
part #213-4011A 12 volts 63A rated

Wire from alternator runs to left side of amp meter. ( looking from back of meter)
Wire from left side of meter runs to, what I think is a voltage regulator, and connects to terminal with cable from positvie side of battery. Other terminal on regulator has cable that runs to starter.

Wire from right side of amp meter runs to right side of on/off switch. Evidently when this tractor was converted to 12 votls, they took off the key switch and wiring for lights and used the light switch for on/off.

Wire from left side of on/off switch runs to a old looking white ceramic cube about 3" long with terminals on both ends. Resistor? Wire from other end of this, what ever it is, runs to another old looking resistor/reostat type looking thing. It is 1 1/2" square black ceramic looking material with 2 terminals on the bottom. Between the terminal is a small rod that looks like a screw. There is a sort of a heat sheild that wraps up around this rod. There is a wire that runs from the same terminal to a connection on top of the black cover of the distributor. There are no wires connected to the other side of this thing.

With the tractor running I get a voltage reading of 11.5 volts at the alternator, battery, and the other hot terminals along the system. The amp meter reads between 2 to 4 amps when running.

Once I solve this problem, I would like to put the key switch back on it and rewire it for the lights.
