Ok well we run an 88 gas with a bunch of mods where it would never ever be considered stock. You said you had a diesel and were wanting to switch to an 1850 engine. So you want info on a diesel 1850 with the Perkins engine or are you going gas ? 1850 diesel is not a waukesha. We pull in what s called a light enhanced class. Lots of competitive tractors. Have a buddy who we go to the pulls with who has an 88 with an 880 engine. Diesel. He put on a pump from a dt466 ih, along with different lines ect. He also put on a charger. First one was too big, and he put on a smaller one that would spool up right. He thought he would beat us for sure. He didn't. Lots of smoke and little power increase.
