One of my kids has taken up selling cars for a living. Things are going well for him, but he had his first incidence with an unpleasant customer. He traded in a car on a new car a while back. The deal went well, the customer was happy. Company policy is to call a few days after to make sure things are going ok, this call went well. A week later he made a second check call and things were still good. A few days later he gets a call from the guy and he says he has a big problem. There was a CD in his old car that was of his daughter's wedding and not long after the wedding his daughter passed away. That CD was one of the few things he had to re.ember her by. My son said he would see if he could find it. Sadly the car was sold. He asked the salesman that sold it for the contact info on the buyer. The other salesman said good luck because the buyer didn't like his deal and was unhappy. But my son called anyway to try to get the CD back. The buyer of the car flat refused to give it to him. The company offered to go wherever he was to get it, to fill his car with gas and give him an extra gas card as well. My son offered extra cash as well. But the buyer just said "your not getting it, should have given me more for my trade and hung up.
Now I might be sympathetic if it was something from the company and he just wanted to get even. But to hold something sentimental from an innocent is just plain meaness in my book. How can people be so heartless? The guy who lost it was disappointed but understood there was nothing to be done.
