We have slopes on our property. I try to stay off them. Things that cross my mind. Going up hill, you got enough weight up front to keep the wheels on the ground? Going down hill, will the tractor jump,out of gear and of it does, do you have enough brakes to stop it? If your brakes are some kind of power assist and the engine dies, how do you stop the tractor? Then.... Getting pushed down a hill is no fun and can kill - be very careful with heavy towed stuff, i.e. wagon full of bales, wagon behind a baler, behind the tractor. Slopes, if going side to side, I put my Haybine and baler on the up side so it's not tugging me down hill and adding to the potential roll effect.
But I've seen some folks baling round bales on ground so steep, I'm surprised they didn't starve the engine for oil. We haven't really tackled our steeper slopes and they are not really steep, but I'm the nervous guy. Why get killed over a bale of hay. But we will do things like put the heavy tractor on the lighter New Holland 68, bale out on the ground. We might use a sickle mower instead of the haybine.
