Forgot something. On clear plastic parts like canopies and such, Testor's clear plastic cement in the 2 oz (same shape as MM but plastic tube blue and white bottle) is what to use. It dries crystal clear and doesn't melt the plastic, making the visible glue spot like MM.
Microscale Industries makes a decal setting solution and over coat for decals (2 different products, one red label the other blue), 1 oz. containers. The setting solution is for making decals conform to irregular surfaces, like exposed rivets and things that protrude from the surface. Put the decal in place (water soaking as usual), and immediately carefully brush setting solution over it. Give it time to dry which causes the decal to essentially melt and conform. Then apply their decal protector overcoat or if you want a matte finish to the whole job to make a uniform coating over everything I use Aleene's Acrylic Sealer in the Matte finish style available at Wallyworld in the crafts dept which has a lot of things you'll find useful.
On any of the spray finishes, if you plan to use them, unless you want to make windshields and gun position clear plastic bubbles opaque, leave them off the model till you spray and then install and they will remain clear.
