Been using a Powder River chute like that, only probably an older model, for many years. Works OK and will handle a 1500# cow. A little noisy but all the old chutes are that I have seen. I bought mine at a farm auction many years ago for less than $100, which was a real bargain. Got a new quadrant latch for the head gate from them a few years ago so think parts are still available although most anything can be welded if needed with possibly the exception of the quadrant, which will wear some over a long period. Two sons and I also have a portable For-Most chute and like it very well. They are available with manual or self-closing headgate. We have the manual which we like better than the self-closing but everyone has their preference. If a one-man operation, would definitely want the self-closing head gate.
