I jacked the 47' 8N up today and pulled the shims off the front axle as instructed and pushed it all the way to the rear. Well, I still have interference with the fan blades on the front axle. As I have mentioned before the previous owner was a cobble jockey and after inspection a couple of fan blades have been repaired by brazing. The fan blade diameter is correct; 15.75" but what I'm suspecting is the brazing caused some warpage along with the the front axle pin was so badly worn that it dipped below the fan blade edges. There currently isn't a fan shroud as well which I am going to replace to help the cooling on the tractor. How much clearance is proper from the fan blade to the front edge of the axle? Can I bump the blades forward to create the clearance? I'm getting crazier by the moment!
