ANSWER: Ford sold so many tractors, because Ford made so many tractors and in their day they were an inovation and improvement on what was currently out there on the market. ALSO, Ford made a lot of tractors (A GREAT LOT, over 500,000 or so) and had the sales distribution system in place to SELL THEM by getting them out to the consumer. At that point they were the best for the money for the small farmer. They can still do some good work. It is not fair to compare apples to oranges.
