A car got into what seemed like a minor mishap. Just wanted it fixed but body shop estimate was higher than what we thought. Now insurance wants to total it because of age of car. Now my question: When they come up with their price how fair will it be and is there usually room to beat them up some??? Since car may have to be replaced. Also there might be the option to "buy it back" and fix it kind of wondering what they get on a buy back? This is something I have not had to deal with at least recently. Also any advantage to putting it on my property while they go through the process as it is at the body shop. Thank you
