I have an opportunity to trade and I am torn. I'm going with majority rule here, so weigh in.
For years I have used an 8N Ford with a six foot back blade for light snows. It turns easy in the barnyard and always starts. Last year we didn't get enough snow here to blade, the year before that I was using a tractor loader since we had so much. It's a crap shoot.
Well, I decided this summer it was stupid to push snow around like that with all of these cab tractors and I should look for an eight foot blade to put on the IH 886. It has a loader so in deep snow it gets used anyway. It's a little big to get in some spots but when the heat is blowing and the satellite radio is humming I don't mind three-point turns.
A guy I know has an eight footer and wants to trade me. I'm not going to just buy it and have two sitting here. I hardly use it anyway and I hate junk sitting around. Should I trade him? I can't think of anything I need a little tractor and blade for but I do hate to get rid of implements for the little tractor. Not that I use it a lot - it has an old brush cutter on it year around and I use it to mow electric fence lines and that's it. Trade and use a bigger tractor or stick?
