Here are some facts about NY agriculture. 23% of NY's land mass is in agriculture, about 7 million acers, and there are approximately 36,000 farm families. Dairy is the largest agricultural product, and NY ranks 4th in the nation. NY ranks second in the nation in the production of apples, maple syrup, cabbage, and snapbeans.
