Sitting here knocking out a couple of fiscal year tax returns that are due in December and January. One a corporate and one a non-profit. Got a little snow last night, but now it is over 40 degrees and getting kind of sloppy. I have the combine back together and ready to finish up the corn I should already be done with if the elevator hadn't messed me up. That end of the field is high on the north with a fairly good grade down to a muddy swale then up the far side about the same distance. UP the hill is not really a problem once you stop the slewing motion from climbing thru the mud. DOWN the hill is OK also unless you hit that odd pocket where you get no traction. Then you are just as likely to go down sideways as not...a rare treat that a person should experience at least once in their life. The cardio benefits almost outweigh the cost of the corn you run over. Nothing like a 9 ton machine with another 3 tons of grain up high on the back sliding down a hill sideways. Really can get the heart rate up. Next couple nights are going to be down in the 20's and looks like we have one day where it will not get above freezing. Thinking I will wait it out and hope the ground freezes this week. Meanwhile we get the decorating done and I can catch up on the office work. Rolling the dice we don't have any deep snow coming soon. :)
