: : There are three types of mechanics. Those that do understand and can trouble shoot and are willing to pass on the knowledge. Those that have no idea what is going on but will not ask for help. And the rest of us. We may know the problem but need help solving it. That is the reason we ask questions and ask for help.

: I'm wondering if the writer of the first "Real Mechanic" posting has ever had his arm properly calibrated to use a torque wrench. Wouldn't it be a diservice to mechanical technology if mechanics arms handled the wrenches in the same uncalculated manner of that posting!?!

Gents,
I'm sitting here at home this evening with a virus which is making me nauseated and uncomfortable. Reading the all the postings re: Real Mechanic has been very therapeutic. I feel a heck of a lot better. The postings have ranged from smart (_!_)(I really got a kick out of that sign!) to serious. It seems to me for someone to read a posting of a guy's or gal's mechanical problem, think about it, come up with an answer, then take the time to post it, shows honest concern for another's difficulty. I have a Ford 9N restored from a rusted wreck on a friend's small farm.(It took me two years to get him to sell it to me. He said it was for his grandkids to play on.), a Ford 8N with a Dearborn front loader, and a brand new old Oliver 77 Row Crop, currrently not running. I have been over on the Oliver board getting help on the 77RC and the postings have resulted in e-mail that have been particularly helpful setting it up to run. I am always amazed at the knowledge and willingness to share it that shows up on this board. I know I'm talking too much, but I sure like what I see on this board and the other boards at this website. Thank you all!
