I would like some recommendations on the "right way" to plow a field. This will be my first time plowing for crop and not just plowing for fun. It's only about a 6 acre area on the property in the style of a backwards "L," with the back facing the north and the bottom of the "L" on the east side. There's alfalfa now for the taking, but the one who has been cutting doesn't feel it worthwhile for his time to take one more cut.
I just bought the property in southern WI and the alfalfa is pretty thin, so I was planning on planting corn next Spring.
I will be using a '37 JD A and a 2 14s plow.
I will try to post a photo.
So again, what would be the right layout to plow with what I have for what is there now in the field and what I would want to put there next year, corn. Does it matter what type of corn works better for this next crop?
