I grew up Near Lansing Michigan, a big GM town. Seems one of my friends posted something with in the last few years about GM hiring, the starting wage was $15.35. During the bankruptcy GM and Chrysler got a two tier wage deal with new hires getting significantly lower wages and benefits. As far as Ford building a new plant in Mexico what's new they already have several. With that they get lower wages, no federal health care requirements defining what benefits they must provide, less intrusive government regulations telling them what their employees can and can't do and lower taxes. All possible by NAFTA and the Democratic president who signed it because he was really concerned about the working man and his family. Of the last 6 cars the wife, the kids and myself have had we have a Dodge Grand Caravan from Canada, A ford F-150 from Canada, A Ford Fusion from Mexico, a Honda Accord from Marysville Ohio, a Toyota Camry from Kentucky and a Subaru Outback from Lafayette Indiana. So the question is what's more important A US Company getting the sale or a US worker building the product?
