: : My "50" has a strange clutch problem. It sometimes will not disengage (which is very disconcerting when you are heading for a solid object like a barn wall. Don't ask how I know). I have put in new discs and adjusted the linkage so it takes the recommended 40-80 lbs. to "snap" in. It will freely operate back and forth when the engine is stopped.
: : But when running, I can yank back on the lever to where the pulley brake is dragging, but the clutch stays engaged!
: : What is sticking here, the three operating bolts, toggle bolts, or something else?
: : Thanks for any suggestions.

: First, try this...loosen the adjusting bolts and retighten to where the clutch engages freely and will stop with the brake....then run some like this...tighten the bolts some additional...till you get it to freely working..be shure the brake is adjusted properly....
My 60 did the dame thing. Had to go all the way in and found worn 'dog bones', bolts had worn spots on them and an alignment pin that had a worn spot that prevented the slide collar from operating freely. E-mail me directly or call me and I'll explain in detail.
