: I have heard at a ford 302"v8 fitts in a N8\N9 : send me a mail if you know about that. Since there's no frame in the way when you split the tractor at the clutch and the front of the engine, there's little limit in what engine you build brackets for, so long as the flywheel will fit inside the bell housing. You might have to make an adapter bushing for the pilot and use a custom clutch plate. You'd need to built some frame because the 8N uses the engine and its heavy duty oil pan for frame. I doubt the drive train would hold a 302 very long unless the 302 was really detuned. There was a small factory that made kits to install early 50's inline 6 cylinder ford engines. I've seen pictures somewhere on the internet. I don't remember how to find them now. But a 302 has a lot more torque than a flat head 189.
