What is it with breakdowns this year? Is anyone else having one of those years? There's been one day in the last two weeks something hasn't had a complete and total meltdown. Let's see...
The fan speed adjuster motor on the combine went out on the first day of harvest.
The sprayer pump has been resealed twice (thank you atrazine) and just blew a hose today.
The slip clutch on the moco had to be adjusted and all of the springs evened. That's nice because Deere was the last one to touch it. So much for adjusting it to "specs". That usually means they won't be different lengths.
The disk needed a new disk on the end up front.
The idler pulley went out on the planting tractor and took the belt with it. It took 2 1/2 days for John Deere to get the right parts in.
The water pump went out on the 8430. That was another two days as they ordered in the wrong one only to find that the correct one was on the shelf.
One of the three foot bolts that hold the rear end together on the 8430 snapped. That got welded.
Today the fan belt on the 2000 Chevy broke.
I know I'm forgetting 14 or 15 things. I'm tired of playing mechanic. I'd like to farm at some point here!
