: Can anyone who has owned or operated 2 cylinder models and the new generation models (after 1960) give me a perspective on the merits of each. Some claim that the 2 cylinder models were just made better, more reliable, etc. I ask becuase I don't have much experience on either and own a Model 1010 but love the looks of the Model 50 and 420 series. Thanks for your input. Duane, I have had 430, and 2010. Now have 730 and 4440. xx10 series had many bad engineering flaws. Lift systems on the used ones are next to impossible to repair as parts are largely unavailable and the internal parts sensing lift requirements cannot be adjusted correctly without replacing the whole unit. Older 2cyls are great if you get one in good condition. They will do as much as they always did but get one with a 3pt. You will enjoy a late model 2cyl x20 or x30 series. New generation xx20 and later are good also. Contact me offline if I can answer any other questions. Regards, Bill in Ala strickland-ww@redstone.army.mil
