My wife cut my hair for over 40 years. Maybe went to a barber 3 times in those 40 years. Finally started going to an old barber shop in a small town 6 miles away. First time I went in there about 2 years ago, I commented that old man Levis had cut my hair the last time I was there. They looked at me funny and said he died about 20 years ago. Got a good laugh out of that. Told them the story that Levis told me years ago. He cut hair in our little community as a young man and the customer would sit on a stump outside the local general store. A drunk guy sat down and laid a big pistol on his lap. He told Levis he wanted a haircut and a shave and if he cut him, He was going to shoot him. Levis did a good job and when he was finished, the drunk said "You shore are lucky you didn't cut me". Levis said "Nope you shore are lucky. If I had cut you, I would have just gone on and cut your throat". Richard in NW SC By the way, I pay $8 for a hair cut these days. Usually give them a 10 spot.
