: I live 90 min. from Canada and was wondering about buying used tractors or equipment in Canada and bringing it across the border. Are there any special laws, restrictions, fees etc. that I should be aware that would work against the very favorable dollar exchange rate? Nellie: Speaking from the other end, we are watching every piece of equipment that comes up for sale disappear down the road heading for Windsor or Port Huron. It can't be too hard because there are a lot of people doing it. Just be careful what you buy because a lot of lemons are going south too. A non-runner Ford 8N that was solid rust went at a sale for $1650 a few weeks ago. Then again, 20 years ago, all those trucks hauled a lot of equipment north. Good luck. Tom.
