A friend of mine has an arm that must look just about like that. I haven't seen him since the accident.
The way I heard it, he was grinding feed into a farm truck on a cold morning and wanted to leave the truck running to keep it warm. The parking brake didn't work on the truck so he put a block in front of one wheel. Just as he was walking around in front of the truck, the accumulated weight of feed in the truck caused it to jump over the block. Truck rolled forward and pinned him against the side of a building. His arm took the brunt of it, and punched through the truck's grill. I heard there were bones poked through his coat sleeve.
His wife finally heard him yelling above the noise of the grinder and came to his rescue, only she didn't know how to drive the stick shift truck so she got a 4wd pickup and a chain and pulled the truck off of him. I heard they put his arm back together successfully, but I haven't seen him or heard an update lately.
