the neighbor where i stashed my fresh heifers last summer until i had enough to milk here, lost his dairy barn last night. passer-by woke them up about 1 am. all that is left standing is the 2 silos and a grain tank. everything else connected to the barn is gone. including his milking herd, maybe 60-70 cows and the young calves tied in the barn. one cow made it out of the barn, singed hair but not burned, and 3 calves in hutches outside the barn survived. those 4 animals are here. the bred heifers in another barn, and his wife's menangerie (pigs, goats, donkeys, etc) survived but were in the prevailing wind/smoke. prayers for paul and karen appreciated.
btw, his 966 and 826 and, i think, the 544 were ok.
