Red Wings style #608! soles last well and can be replced if the uppers are still good ($75). No goartex just leather light comfy. Below Zero this morning when I walked the dog down to the farm for milking with some smart wool socks and tingley over shoe rubbers feet were fine. The boots are just over $200 and the soles last about 4,000 hrs worth of dairy farming before they're shot. They do have the same style boot with goretex for more $$. The goretex ones are not as cool in the summer. MOST IMPORTANTLY - Go to a place that will properly measure your foot and get the correct width and size boot for YOUR foot! They can order EXACTLY what you need. Consider going and getting your foot measured before you need the boots incase they need to order them. Don't be afraid to put good insoles in them if you need extra support for a high arch or whatever.
