Mel, was that procedure for 600B a gas engine because youe 2nd paragraph seems to apply to a gas engine.
My machine was not running correct at high rpm so I hope to double check timing of my diesel 188. I have to follow timing sequence so I assemble flywheel on crankshaft in correct position so flywheel marks line up to pointer under cap in torque tube. The guy I bought machine off 2 yrs ago rebuilt diesel 188 and I think he was unaware of cap on torque tube. He is presently unavailable so I will not be able to ask him for several months. At high rpms it was running rough and he actually broke a push rod. He had to fix that so he warned me it may need a new or re-built or re-calibrated injection pump. He did not have a service manual so I'm hoping if I follow procedure in manual it will run properly.
