I post a week or so ago about the gas lank leaking when full on my 97 Ram pickup. I finally got time to work on it again and got the fuel tank off. When I rolled it on its side to get it out from under the truck, gas ran out of the front of the tank. I got it out quickly and back upright. There is a small hole in the plastic gas tank near the top of the tank. I started draining the gas out and decided this was too slow, so I stuck a screw driver in the hole and made it a little bigger. I drained out about 7 gallons of gas, no wonder it was so heavy!! It looks to me like it might have been patched before or else there were deformities in the tank from new. I went online to price new tanks and can't find one. I looked at Napa, O'Rielly's, Rock Auto and J C Whitney and none were listed. Where can I find another tank or is there a reliable plastic tank repair??I'm waiting until Monday to check with Napa, Alta delivers parts for them, so if they can get one it will have a pretty good discount on price. 2016 is off to a GREAT start!!
