A rule of thumb over the last forty years the MSLP on vehicles and big ticket equipment is about 23% over the dealers invoice cost plus there are many other discount programs and volume discounts which change at any given moment depending what the company is trying to move. A person can sell something for half of what a new like tool cost and still recover more than he paid for it. It is difficult to figure it all out but this part of the equation is called inflation.
