: Tore the engine down on my JD and found an extra bolt in the bottom of the crank case, and I don't mean a little rod bolt. It was a 3/4 bolt about 4in long. Looked like it have been in there for years, no one I guess bothered to take the time to get it out. It didn't fit anywhere on the tractor, probably off the piece of equitment that was mounted during the last over haul. Just wanted to know what other odd thing people had found in their old tractors. Overhauled a "Rocking Beam" Steam engine Chesapeake Bay Paddle Wheeler in 1937, imagine my surprise when I"pulled the Pan" & out tumbled a 1932 Stearman Bi-Plane . Deeply troubled by the experience, I consulted the local flying club (www planes are us.com) and found that sure enough the plane was on a "Picnic Flight" when the piolet decided to "Buzz the Pretty Boat", The upshot was that the pilot and his girl friend were recovered, feeling (like I ran into an egg beater). but the plane remained missing "all these years". sure enough when I checked the interior, there was even a picnic basket aboard, however I was greatly dissapointed, because even though I expected the chicken to be bad by this time, the DAMN CHAMPAIGNE WAS FLAT...
