I see a lot of comments about a zero turn being faster than a traditional lawn tractor. I agree this is the case if you are comparing an old lawn tractor with gear drive. I have a large Husky with a 48 inch welded deck and the fast hydro transmission. It mows just as fast as a zero turn and doesn't ride as rough doing it. It has a tight turning radius. I can turn and mow around a tree just fine. It cost me $3200 a couple of years ago which is about the same price as a low level zero turn that has no suspension. To get a zero turn that rides nice you need a higher level one with four wheel suspension which is going to cost about double what the Husky cost me. I had a basic zero turn for two months that I bought used. I didn't like it at all. It rode very rough. Sold it for what I paid for it and bought the Husky. Very happy with it. The Husky mower I have came from a dealer not a big box store. I always hear how much time someone saved going to a zero turn. That is not the full story. If you compare a good quality new lawn tractor with a zero turn the difference is not that much.
