Jeff installed four large ventilation fans in the end of the barn last year. (spreader shed) Since the spreader shed is walled off from the main barn except for a decent sized door and two normal sized windows, it was a ventilation bottleneck. So Jeff rented a demo saw and a jack hammer today and we went at it. 12 inch thick wall. Poured in 1949. I'm here to tell you that wall is going to be still standing strong in 2115, too! The demo saw left about three inches of uncut concrete in the center of the wall. What a job to break that remaining 3 inches and open those walls up! The worst part was Jeff standing on a three step ladder and holding supporting the jackhammer while I pulled the trigger and leaned into it. We got-er-done though, and the difference in the amount of air moving over the cows heads is quite noticeable. What a job, though!
