: I just replaced the points coil and such. But soon as I replaced this another problem showed up. : 1.As soon as I get it started it runs great for about 3 minutes then it starts to knock and then dies. : 2. I checked all fluids -fine : 3. When I checked the Oil filter there was barely any oil in the cannister. : I am suspecting that the oil pump is bad and that after starting to warming up the knocking starts and kills it. : Does this sound right? : If so how do replace the pump( in general) : Please E-Mail if possible : TIA, : Bill Bill, If you have an oil pressure gauge check to see if you have oil pressure before you tear into anything. Oil pump is not to hard to change ( see I&T)
