They're about as tough a horse as you'll get for that vintage. Don't turn it up too much, keep clean oil in it (100 hours), dump a bottle of DCA4 coolant conditioner in it every couple of years and blow the rad out a couple times a year... They're run the better part of 100 hp and live a long time. And don't drop the DP into low to slow it down... it's fine to downshift it under power when it's losing speed but not when it's gaining speed/coasting. I was never a big fan of full power upshifts either so slack off the heat when you make that shift. Otherwise, Dual Power will last a long, long time. Now if you want to turn it over 100 hp... all bets are off. They will overheat... they will tear clutches apart... and eventually they'll overheat and melt.
