Whats a good way to test to see if I have fuel in my oil pan? This 986 I rescued from the salvage yard has me kinda puzzled! It's leaking oil on the clutch if it's moving it's a drip every 8 ft if I stop leave it idle it pours out! Ok so I need a rear main seal! So I ran it about 8 hours now and doesn't seem to have used much oil even though it's leaking! You can work the crap out of it and it will not smoke and the pump was never broke into still has ih cable seal! Which not smoking to me is good means it's burning all the fuel! The part is puzzling is the fact the oil level isn't really dropping cause of the leak I changed oil before I ran it it's still brown color not black like most engines that old! And oil seems a tad runny to me When cold! But it was 75 out when I started! Has me wondering could it be putting about the same amount of fuel in the pan as its leaking thier for making the oil level seem the same! Or maybe it's just me and it's not leaking as much as I think! But I want to be sure before I have major problem!

You got to understand that while my Mom is a hard worker who will always help whenever she can... she had never operated farm machinery before that day.
