I took off from work at Noon Thursday to get started planting corn and then all day Friday. Finished corn and switched planter from trash wheels to no till coulters and started on beans. Finished beans Saturday evening. I planted corn into last years bean stubble no till. I usually side dress N, but decided to let CPS put it on before planting this year. Not sure if I like having N put on before I plant. It left the soil ridged from the applicator knives, and I planted some of the hills on contour instead of following the applicator tracks and MAN, it was ROUGH!! The Dawn trash wheels were set to not disturb the soil much in the bean stubble, but every time the trash wheel ran down a knife track, it made a trench from the ridge the knife left. The entire farm is HEL. I drilled cover crop rye last fall and sprayed a burndown to kill it. I don't think I have many options to try in this situation. I might have to try having them spray on liquid next year. Chris
