I saw smoke off to the east Sunday afternoon. The wife went to town about an hour later and said they were telling in the grocery store that there was a barn fire out at a Mennonite farm two miles east of town on my aunt and uncles old place. I came by there yesterday afternoon about 1:30 on my way home from the stockyard and couldn't even see where there'd been a barn fire, just some smoke coming up down next to a swamp. There were a couple of guys out back setting some poles though. They had three leaning lop sided in the holes. This morning about 10:30,I had to go to the Agco dealer for parts and went by there. They had all the poles set, rafters up and were putting on the 2x4s on a pretty good sized barn. The smoke was still smoldering off by the swamp. The wife wanted to stop at the Mennonite store on the way home,so I asked in there what was going on. She said that was where the fire was alright. She said they lost two tractors,a bunch or round bales,a generator and an air compressor. She said they used a hydra hoe to take the burning bales out and shoved them off to the side. It was about 1:30 then when we came back past the place and they had all the steel on the roof and were staring to put it on the sides. Here it is 4:30 and I'd bet anything you want to bet that they're done and packing up to go home and do chores. The whole yard was full of buggys and pickups. Must have been quite a crew.

This article is about my '53 Ford Jubilee and a story that starts with taking the tractor to my brother's Starter/Alternator Rebuilding shop for a wiring fix. The generator was shot as well as all the wiring. I dropped off the tractor expecting a transformation from a 6 volt to a 12 volt system utilizing the original generator housing, and a total rewiring of the whole tractor. The front end center pin bushing was worn also so I ask that they replace it if they had time. Well, that’s wha
