: : : wondering where I can buy engine parts for : : : this engine its a 2cy : I have always wondered about Detroits and am curious as to what special tools are needed? I saw that they don't have an injector pump but seem to have individual injectors that operate directly off the cam shaft much the same way the exhaust valves do. How does one set the timing and pop off PSI? : GEO GEO, The injector timing is set by adjusting the injector height, the rack has to be balanced so as one of the injectors is not getting more fuel than the others otherwise it can run rough. As for special tools a injector timing gauge is a must, if the engine is equipped with a throttle delay you need a gauge for that. As for parts the 71 series is still in production so check your local Detroit dealer. I am familiar with the older Detroits, I can give you my e-mail address if you need it. Good Luck. T.J.
