They wouldn't have had the luxury of the propane burner back in the day, would have used one of the old pump up blow torches, or worse!
Did you see the assistant with the start rope wrapped around his hand for a better grip? What could possibly go wrong with that!
And, I didn't catch it, but how does one get the steering wheel out of the starter hole once it starts? Does it just sling out on it's own! And where does it land after that???
