: : I was wondering if there are turf type tires made to fit on standard rear rims of my ford 641 workmaster. What would I expect to pay for them? If optional rims are needed what should I expect to pay for those as well? Thanks Much. : The Goodyear folks told me the smallest 16in turf tire they sell is a 7.50 x 16in. In the Ford tractor data book it says that to get the advertized 76in front width it was necessay to reverse the front rims - I did and it gives about 4in more clearance between the tirs and the spindle assembly. : Anyone else got any input on the subject? : Mike in NC I believe Ford and Case use the same front wheel. My G310W with front loader had 7.50x16 triple tread tires on it on 16 x 5" wheels. In fact one was off of a Ford 2N. They were way too narrow and would sink in when moving dirt or trash. Pulled a front hub because of bad bearings and started checking bolt and center whole sizes. I originally thought a 6 hole GM truck wheel might fit, but was wrong. Checked at Interstate Wheel, they had 15 x 8" wheels in the proper 6 on 6 inch "ag" hub, but they wanted $92.00 each for the stock wheels (ouch). Then that next Saturday, I stopped down at our local Les Schwab (a regional tire dealer), they had the same wheels, brand new for $47.00 each. So I bought the wheels and a pair of take off 31x10.50x15 truck radials (mismatched). They gave me $40.00 trade-in on the 7.50 x 16's. So the whole deal cost me about $125.00 to swap over. Of course if you have a problem running used tires, you can also buy 11L x 15 ag tires new, but not for my 40 year old rig I won't. And yes, to get the wide rims to clear the tie rods, they go on valve stems in. So if your take off tires have raised white letters like mine did, consider it. I just spray painted the letters black and let it go. As for my old wheels, I put an old set of 7.50 x 16 traction retreads that have some tread left back on the skinny wheels. Figured when I'm plowing snow this winter, the skinnier tires might steer a little better. Jeff King
