Well, as some of you with a good memory may remember. I was laid off from my job on 12-18. I spent 10 hours per day surfing job sites. The second week of January I had 5 interviews and 2 offers. The first offer was night shift 5pm to 5am M-F. (I would never see my wife, other than the weekends) I had to decline this job. The money would be great with the shift premium and the overtime, but 60 hours per week to kill my self would not be worth it and too hard on my marriage. (and 37 miles one way drive) Second job was 10% less money and only 10 miles from my house. I took this job and started on 1-22. I am a machine maintenance guy with other duties to help out the manufacturing engineer with projects too. However, I am standing on concrete most of the day. I need to know what is the best most comfortable shoe/boot for a guy with flat feet. I am not overweight which is a major plus. But....my feet ache so fricken bad that I am going to a shoe store today to get real comfy tennis shoes with foam inserts. I am currently wearing Wolverine boots with foam inserts, but as the day wears on my feet hurt more and more. I am glad I am back to work. I have never been laid off in 27 years of working until last month. last job I was a machinist and I was able to stand on a thick rubber mat. I almost want to cut out a heavy rubber mat and glue it to the bottom of my boots. (if it works and looks stupid I would not care) If some of you guys have a solution for me for the best most comfy shoe please tell me what it is. Thanks in advance.
