Same thing around here, there was a couple barn builders with different ideas, the better built ones are still standing well, the others are not. A man by the name of Dounour was a good builder and built them all with the same design,offered them with/with out rear shed, and the quality was logs with no bark showing or some bark showing. My barn was built by him, the story went that he would lay them out in the barn yard and measured with a big point divider, boring all the holes and making the wooden pins first. I think mine was built in 1932.
