: Short of tearing it down...Can anyone share any : old or new methods for freeing a MM "U" engine? : All suggestions appreciated. : No, I'm not going to buy "Red", or "Green" or : "Blue" or whatever color is your "only real : tractor" ... just in case your were thinking : so ... : I am serious ... it supposedly has only been stuck : for a year ... so I'm told. Should be a way : without opening it up. : Thanks, Dave M I like kerosene. If your not in a hurry, just keep the cylenders full of kerosene. Might take weeks, months, whatever. Keep an eye on which ones you fill the most. The stuck one, or ones, probably won't leak down as bad as the others. If you get impatient you can pull the head and, using a piece of wood as a buffer, tap down on the tops of the cylenders. I suppose if your machine hasn't been stuck for too long though the kerosene would get it in a realatively short time. Maybe a month or two. My farmall has been sitting full for almost a year now. I'm not in a hurry. That engine hasn't run in 50 years, I'm not going to rush. If you don't like kerosene you could use marvel, engine oil, kroil, rubbing alcohol, whatever you've got alot of. (It will probably take ALOT)
