Today was one of those days you wished you stayed in bed. Got up felt good till I stubbed my toe on the bed frame, OUCH! I don't want to look at my toe and did not. Hobble to the kitchen for coffee and remembered I forgot to stop at the store for some yesterday. Found a can on the self, mmmmmm good. Made a pot and had a cup, The day is starting to look better now. Phone rings at 7;45 and it was a telemarketer, Hung up. Spent the next 2 hours answering the phone, All telemarketers. Enough! I am not going to answer the phone anymore today! Turned to walk away phone rings again, I see red and answer with a hatefull "WHAT DO YOU WANT NOW"! It was the wife with a flat tire call, I am in the dog house now! I ran at the speed of light to change her tire and make things right and tell her how the day is going, She was not amused.
Its now 1;30 time to get the new tires for the truck. Going to the tire place on a road that was just paved this spring and it was like driving on a wash board. With a semi behind me and one coming at me I looked over to see my drivers side mirror fall off the truck, No sense stopping cause I know it flattened by then. Get to the tire place and find the price of the 6 tires I told them to get went up by $130 OUCH. 2 hours later there on and I leave. Time to got moving have lots to do yet today. 2 miles down the road the truck died, Looked down out of fuel CRAP. Now a diesel is fun to get running when you run them out of fuel. 1/2 hour late its running again and down the road I go for another mile about ware I lost the mirror and a State Patrol is pulling over a pick up with a load of scrap that's falling off the truck. As I swerved to miss the rolling rotary hoe wheel I hit a mail box with the other mirror braking it and at the same time hitting the outside dual on the rolling hoe wheel and blew a new tire. Cop was nice and didn't give a ticket for the missing mirrors and did make the scrap guy pay for a new tire and one mirror, So I turned the truck around and with flashers on I limbed (15 mph flopping around) the truck back to the tire store for another new tire. Left the place again heading home to face a still mad wife at home.
Once home my wife says how was your day? She when says the phone has been ringing all day and the answering machine is full and there are 26 missed calls. I told her about my fun day and she LOL awhile and said I don't believe you. Well go look at the truck! She did and as she came to the den she had a cold adult beverage for me and forgave me for my earlier booboo I made. She when asked how's the toe? Now I really wished I had stayed in bed as I took my boot off to find I had tore the toe nail loose on my big toe. Now I got to go to the doctor and have him take it off tomorrow and get 2 mirrors! Should have stayed in bed today. Bandit
