Yea, I was thinking what kind of quality oil was out there in 1950? I put what was recommended from Case-IH for tranny, then replaced with 90/140 gear lube. The newer oils are IMO way too thin. I had tons of gear noise in tranny. Not to mention oil leaks. Had same problem with Jubilee. I put in the recommended oil from Case new Holland. Then on a hot summer day, it was coming out the tranny's input shaft in a steady stream. Instead of splitting tractor and replacing seal, it was easier to return it to 90/140 gear lube.
How hard can it be to rebuild hyd pump that looks like it's out in the open? Good chance it's never been rebuilt. Really isn't used much, only use it lift mower deck. The pump was talking and not doing any lifting with the extreme oil.
