I posted here a while ago regarding a hydraulic hose assembly problem in my '63 Ford 3400, I finally cut the old one off and tried doing it with flex lines, but after 2 or 3 attempts and a lot of money (we don't have anyone who can come out to us to work on the tractor and have no way to transport the tractor so we've been trying to get it replaced long distance, and trying to get someone to come and weld it was a joke as the one guy I found refused to do it unless the hose was off the tractor, and I couldn't get it off in one piece) I've finally given up and sourced a 'brand new' replacement rigid tube hydraulic hose assembly, basically an exact replacement of the original.
Now, I originally cut the old one off as I was trying to get it replaced with the flex line, so never had to try and figure out to remove it whole, NOW I have the new lines in this 4-5 foot long, rigid tube, single section assembly I cannot for the life of me figure out how to fit it!
I originally thought I could squeeze and twist it into place, but there must be a trick to it because I've yet to find enough clearance to get it into place, and I cannot get it to go.
Since the right hand side steering assembly appears to be the predominant problem in the way, I thought I could disassemble that, but again there must be a trick to it as I cannot get the steering linkage to come free of the mounting.
I'm stumped... Does anyone know the trick to this or think of any way to get this new damned hose into place? I've spent a LOT of time and money so far, and I'm feeling like I'm going to end up scrapping this whole damned thing, unless I can get this damned thing replaced.
