There are a number of ways to get a engine unstuck, but short of tearing in, they are somwehat hazardous to the tractor. One way is to lightly pull the tractor and to pop the clutch, just like if you were pull starting it. Another way is to pour a lubricant down the sparkplug holes and try giving the crank, pto, or belt pulley a try(Takes awhile put has worked before). Still another way is to adapt a grease gun to he sparkplug hole and pump grease into the cylinder with a handgun or air greasegun. The problem is you probaly don't know if the engine is stuck or really stuck. There is the possibility that you can bend rods, break crankshafts, and destroy sleeves/blocks. Just remember to use a lot of penetrating oil, (marvel, liquid wrench, WD-40, brake fluid etc). Hope this helps! : Short of tearing it down...Can anyone share any : old or new methods for freeing a MM "U" engine? : All suggestions appreciated.
: No, I'm not going to buy "Red", or "Green" or : "Blue" or whatever color is your "only real : tractor" ... just in case your were thinking : so ... : I am serious ... it supposedly has only been stuck : for a year ... so I'm told. Should be a way : without opening it up. : Thanks, Dave M
