Dick A cartridge respirator, eye protection/hood and gloves (I always seem to blast my fingers) should be enough as long as you are not planning to use your blaster for extended periods every day. Heck, buy a pair of earplugs. Couldn't hurt. Heed the warnings! Silicosis is a fibrotic respiratory disease caused from inhalation of silica. There is no treatment for silicosis! Intense exposure to silica may result in disease in a year or less, but it usually takes at least 10 or 15 years of exposure before symptoms develop. Complications include, but are not limited to, increased incidence of tuberculosis, emphysema, and progressive fibrosis. I am less concerned about silicosis than I am about tracking the blast media into the house. That stuff gets everywhere, and She Who Must Be Obeyed is not amused about finding graded sand in the laundry . }:-) Dan NAA60512
