i mowed some more grass for silage this week... My son took some photos. I thought you might like to see how we cut silage in Northern Ireland?.....this is the flat ground that the microlight runway is in......
And this is the steep hill!
This hill is not as steep....I can mow it across the hill
The crop is very heavy and a week late due to showery weather!
One of the three 16 tonne trailers for hauling the grass...
lifting the last field....around 6.00pm
30 foot swathes use up a bit of horse power!...
As one trailer leaves another arrives......
While the third one is being filled......
Dumping at the clamp is fast with auto opening tailgates.....
Three pushes with the shovel clears the 16 tonnes away!
My two sons rolled the clamp with two tractors from 7.00 pm until 9.00 pm and we had the clamp covered and sealed with polythene before midnight!......Job done!.......Sam
